Pilates Instructor

POSITION: Pilates Instructor (Reformer), Toronto (Independent Contractor)

SCHEDULE: Part time, full time.


ALPHA Health Services is seeking a part-time Pilates Instructor to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi disciplinary team of experienced professionals. Candidates who are interested in growing their knowledge, and challenging their skills with patients recovering from injury are encouraged to apply. We are seeking a motivated and experienced instructor to join our team, and lead the pilates division of ALPHA Health Services. Reformer and all equipment onsite.

Key responsibilities include:

    • Monitors and instructs clients during Pilates training sessions on the safe and effective use the equipment
    • Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive client programs that drive client goal achievement and retention
    • Conducts fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening and goal setting to assess and recommend Pilates training programs
    • Instructs private Pilates classes
    • Completes all administrative requirements associated with each client’s fitness plan
    • Maintains the cleanliness of the Pilates space
    • Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry
    • Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends
    • Ensures all members feel competent, confident, and connected by providing superior customer service through complimentary and based services/programming
    • Documents all aspects of client programming
    • Remains current on credentials and continuing education to advance throughout the levels program

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED ( Degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 year of personal training experience
  • Experience in Pilates program design, and one on one teaching experience
  • Certified Pilates Trainer
  • CPR and AED Certified

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Assessment, develop and execute treatment plans in collaboration with the client’s stated goals within scope of the clinical discipline
  • Implement treatment with an emphasis on manual therapy, collaborating with other therapists, requesting, writing and sharing reports, monitoring progress and adjusting treatment, as needed
  • Functioning within current evidence-based best practice

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Experience in a multi‑disciplinary environment
  • Must hold an RMT designation in good standing with the CMTO with appropriate liability insurance (preference will be given to candidates with a secondary designation in good standing, e.g., CAT(C), or DOMP)
  • Concussion management, TMJ disorder skills/training is an asset
  • Part‑time hours (15-20 hours/week) with ability to increase hours based on demand

  • Caseload– varied pre- and post-natal, pelvic pain, fertility, and orthopaedic conditions. Pelvic physiotherapy appointment durations vary on needs; orthopaedic follow-up appointments (approx. 2/hour).  Assessments – 60-minute one-on-one.
