Brain in Motion Comprehensive Concussion Assessment

Presentation Description

This course is developed and taught by Dr. Charlotte Anderson. The course aims to provide physiotherapists with an introductory overview of concussion assessment, hands on skill development, and resources to be used in clinical practice. The course is based on best practice guidelines,  up to date research and aims to be clinically relevant. Participants will learn the basics of concussion assessment, and will leave with a thorough understanding of how to assess patients with a concussion injury in the clinic.

This course is intended for NEW PHYSIOTHERAPY GRADUATES or CURRENT STUDENTS who have an interest in working with this population, or who want to gain the knowledge to be able to adequately assess a patient post concussion.  Please note, Earlybird ticket price $200.00  After April 20 price is $350.00

Objectives

Upon completion of this session participants will be able to:

• Understand the components of an acute concussion assessment
• Understand the components of an assessment for a patient presenting with post concussion symptoms. Determine the possible physiological mechanisms at fault post concussion.
• Conduct a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment for individuals with concussion using evidence-based tools and clinical reasoning
• Clinically reason assessment priorities through subjective and objective assessment findings
• Accurately interpret the findings of the assessment to develop a comprehensive treatment plan
