The aims of this presentation are: to share updates from the current Long COVID and Episodic Disability Study; and to share advice for physiotherapists and rehabilitation providers working with people with Long COVID. This presentation will include an overview of what Long COVID is and some of the likely pathophysiological mechanisms that drive Long COVID. By the end of the presentation, attendees should have an understanding of the disability experienced by people with Long COVID, which may be episodic in nature. This presentation will also include considerations for physiotherapists and rehabilitation providers on what is safe rehabilitation for people with Long COVID. Kiera McDuff is a physiotherapist with clinical experience in acute care. She is passionate about the role of physiotherapists in promoting the health and well-being of patients across the spectrum of the healthcare system. She is the Research Coordinator for the Episodic Disability and Rehabilitation Research Lab at the University of Toronto. She has conducted and analyzed interviews on the experiences of disability among people living with Long COVID as part of the Long COVID and Episodic Disability Study. Kiera is also the Program Coordinator for the Rehabilitation Science Research Network for COVID at the University of Toronto.

Nisa Malli
Patient Led Research Collaborative
Nisa Malli is a member of the Long COVID Patient-Led Research Collaborative (https://patientresearchcovid19.com/) and the Advisory Committee for the University of Toronto’s Rehabilitation Science Research Network for COVID. Her COVID research and advocacy focuses on workers and the labour force and the service design of patient supports and treatment. In her day job, she leads Delivery Policy for the Canadian Digital Service, improving access to government services and information. Previously, she led research for the Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship on digital literacy, technological change, and labour, and worked on employment and social services for the City of Toronto and the federal government.
