My path to massage therapy was a natural evolution from a career dedicated to health,
community, and family wellness. Alongside my practice as a Registered Massage Therapist
(RMT), I have spent over a decade as a small business owner in the wellness space. My
background is rooted in community advocacy and equity—working with various populations
including pre/postpartum individuals, children, seniors, newcomers, at-risk youth, and diverse
marginalized communities to improve health outcomes. These experiences have provided me
with a seasoned, culturally sensitive, and client-centered approach which I bring to the treatment
room.

My inspiration to pursue massage therapy stemmed from my own experience with motherhood.
Navigating the physical and emotional challenges of parenthood firsthand gave me a profound
appreciation for the role of manual therapy in recovery and health maintenance. I realized I
wanted to bridge the gap between my long-standing commitment to community health and a
comprehensive, clinical manual approach to therapeutic care. This led me to Sutherland-Chan,
where I sought out training in diverse environments including rehabilitation, perinatal care,
high-risk pregnancy, long-term care homes, and community wellness.

A definitive moment for me was my clinical rotation at the Lyndhurst Centre, where I
collaborated with physiotherapists to support patients with spinal cord injuries. That experience
solidified my desire to work in an interdisciplinary rehab setting. Now as an RMT at ALPHA
East, I love being part of a team where I can continue to support recovery and help my clients
achieve their ongoing wellness goals.
